Fat injection

LIPOINJECTION

Lipoinjection and lipofilling mean fat tissue transfer from a donor site to any area where filling is required. Lipoinjection is mainly used for recontouring the body surface, reducing the wrinkles which become clear as aging, lip augmentation and filling the thin faces.

Constitutional factors, some congenital or acquired diseases or uncontrolled fat aspiration by liposuction may cause surface irregularity on the body. The lack or weakness of the fat tissue which covers our body causes disfigurement. Regularity can be gained as injecting the fat tissue which obtained from the other side of the body where fat tissue is copious, underneath the skin of the irregular side.

Lipoinjection is mostly used on the face for reducing the wrinkles which become clear due to aging. Fat injection does not annihilate the wrinkles; it only contributes to improve the appearance of wrinkles. Wrinkles become conspicuous as we age. The process of aging cannot be stopped anyhow as known. As a result of aging, soft tissues of the face begin to sag. The wrinkles and folds caused by sagging of tissues can only be corrected by face lift; fat injection can only camouflage the wrinkles and folds. Fat can be injected with combination of face lift. In combined procedures, apart from the fat, the waste tissue materials which were removed during face lift can also be injected as tissue cocktail. Much more impressive results are gained in combined procedures.

Fat Injection

Fat injection can be done to only lips or whole face to get fullness. Fat is injected into the cheeks, chin and around the mouth for whole face fullness, likewise for lip augmentation, fat is injected into the upper and/or lower lips.

Apart from the fat, some preparations such as silicone and collagen are used for filling material. Such preparations have become less useful because of negative effects which manifest in long term. The most reliable technique is the technique which the person's own tissue is used.

The fat for injection is obtained via liposuction. Fat can be harvested from anywhere on the body where the fat deposits are copious. The amount of the fat that will be harvested depends on the necessity of the fat to be injected. The procedure is done under local or general anesthesia depending on the extensity of the operation. Recovery time is also depends on the extensity of the operation. Severe pain is not usual after surgery; slight pain can be controlled by medication. Swelling and bruising that will subside within 7-10 days on the injection side are the natural results of the procedure. About half of the injected fat is absorbed by the body within the 6 months, rest of the fat remains constant. If tissue cocktail is injected, absorption rate is much lower than the fat injection. fettinjektion
